A change

Okay, so I said at the beginning of this blog that I was going to just update the life of my baby girl, Giada. Though it was a noble idea, I have decided that trying to post little tidbits of my daily life as a stay at home mom on my blog, would be rather refreshing. So, I will be doing both; updating everyone on my princess and her life adventures, and adding my own comments on how my life has changed since becoming a mother. Hope you like it!

Mama Mia!
So, Rob has a mistress, and her name is Settebello. She's an authentic Napoletana Pizzeria in downtown Salt Lake City. Every time we go downtown to eat, Rob wants to eat there. It's pretty tasty, I must admit, but the last time we went, which was almost a week ago, we had Giada give it a taste for the first time. After all, the girl is Italian, and it's in her DNA to love pizza, right? When we put the crust in her mouth, she just clamped down on it, and stared at us. It was like, "What do you expect me to do with this?" It was pretty funny. Rob insists that she loved it, and thus pizza will be her first official 'adult food' favorite. Notice from the picture that she is using her hands (as every true Italian does) to explain how she is enjoying this tantalizing treat. She also got a little taste of cinnamon gelato from mommy for dessert. What a lucky bambina!

33 Weeks down... How many more to go?

Well this past week has flown by, at least with the growth and development of our baby girl. Other than weighing a bit more than what she should be at this point (thanks to the gestational diabetes), she’s been fairly cooperative with the doctors. Other than making antenatal nurses madly chase her around my belly with fetal monitors to just check and see if she’s active, she is passing her tests with flying colors. I have been very impressed with the medical care that I’ve received over these past few weeks. These doctors and nurses don’t mess around; they get me the help that I need before I even know that I am in need of something. I have a few assignments; fax in my blood sugars every three days and start a bout of insulin shots, which is, ironically, a blessing. The best thing about all of the blood sugar hoopla is that it’s not my fault! I have been doing my job, but apparently the placenta is not making me look good. At least doctors are blaming something other than me! Rob a...

Week 32: Eight Months Already!

Maybe it seems normal to think that I am this far along already, but I am in total denial. It’s so crazy telling people that I’m eight months pregnant! It seems so surreal! I am totally to the point of exhaustion now. I wasn’t entirely energetic until this point anyway, but I am definitely not doing much extra lately. My days literally consist of working, coming home, sitting on my comfortable recliner, and dozing off until Rob gets home and wants to eat something. The best weekends are like this past one, where we literally stayed home nearly all day long both on Saturday and Sunday (other than Church and grocery shopping). It was great! The nursery is near completion; we still have to hang some curtains, and get some bedding for the crib. Also, we have to seriously clean out the closet and shelving to actually create some storage space for the baby’s things. She needs to put her 8 pairs of shoes (so far) somewhere, doesn’t she? I have a question to put out there for my blog foll...

Seven Months and counting

Rob and I have had many adventures being married for over seven years; we have traveled the world, seen and done many fun and exciting things. However, nothing has added up to the excitement that we feel waiting for the birth of our beautiful princess, our baby girl. Rob and I have started to prepare ourselves for the pains that come with the blessing of having a baby, and also the lack of sleep (which is my most favorite thing in the whole world to do :( We painted her bedroom purple (if you know me well, you wouldn't be too surprised about the color choice), and my darling artistic husband drew a castle on one wall (freehand, thank you very much). It's a good thing one of us knows how to draw... Anyway, this blog is to document, from here on out, our newest adventure. In addition, I literally have family all over the globe that is curious and excited about our new addition (especially my parents and in-laws as we waited FOREVER to procreate, according them them:). We are coun...
